given i can't pay support right now she seems to take the position that she can miss any pickup or drop off she wants.... is there recourse given i am basically in contempt for not paying as well?

No, she is completely wrong for doing this.  I recommend documenting some of the contempts as well as gathering other evidence perhaps witnesses and then filing contempt.  However, don't go into court the first time this happens.  Document a pattern and lump them all into one contempt motion.  That way your chances of winning go up, and you do not consume an overly large amount of the court's time.

Child support and custody are two completely separate obligations.  There are only a few limited circumstances where then are interlinked and not in your circumstances.
