Shared custody

Are the courts in Washington usually open to an agreed upon (by both parties) 50/50 split for child custody? Is a one week with one parent, and the next week with the other sound as if it would be approved? We have one 4 year old, and we would live within a few miles of each other after the divorce.

Hey bobbyg,

Yes, if the two of you write up your parenting plan together and show the best interest of your son in the parenting plan. I used an onlien software called www.kids-first.com ( and it worked PERFECTLY!). Are the two of you still getting along? Can you both collaborate the parenting parenting plan? It is a hard situation as time goes on, but than as circumstances change, you both can make modifications to the plan.

Good luck!!!

Mojo
