QDRO - Washington State - King County
QuoteReply

A final Qualified Domestic Relations Order was approved and filed in King County on Nov. 30, 2007, which entitled me to half of my former spouses 401K.  My attorney assures me that he's been contacting the company's Plan Administrator on a daily basis and that the Plan Administrator keeps saying that the company's attorney has done all the calculations and that the company's attorney has been ready to send out a letter of summary for me and my former spouse to sign.

This has been going on for weeks now and no matter how many times I tell my attorney that I am no longer interested in waiting for the company's attorney to get this letter sent to his office, nothing I say seems to get my attorney to take any aggressive action in order to get the company's attorney to get this letter sent so I can sign it and get my share of the 401K in my hands.

When I seek advice from other attorneys, they all say that I would first have to fire my current attorney and pay a fee just to get them to look at it and tell me what they can do for me, which I don't have.  What is a person who is already tapped out of money supposed to do to get all parties on the same page and just get this done and overwith?

I am totally at wits ends on what to do or where to go for help and I am wondering if anyone here can give me guidence on how to deal with this matter, so that I can get this money in my hands ASAP.

Thank you,

Law Seeker
