Quick Claim Deed, Fiance purching a property

Thanks for your welcome.

I'm trying to get some advice on a long-term divorce. I have a fiancé, his soon to be X wife lives in Mississippi; she filed for divorce in the year of 2002. The case is just sitting; he has an attorney that really doesn’t want to challenge the wife. They have no property together, he lives in California. He actually doesn't trust the lawyer, because she's a law secretary, and have made friends with the judges and the law force as well as a lot of other attorneys. he feels that everyone is on the same side there. He knows no one in Mississippi. She will not sign the divorce papers, just holding on like she has complete control. His attorney never gives him good advice when ever he asks a question.  We'll we want to buy a property, is there a time span, because they’ve been separated for more then 6 years, where she wouldn't have any rights in the property that he purchases? And how can he expedite this divorce, they were married in California, and she filed in Mississippi, He's attorney just keep saying he can fight for jurisdiction, he wants closure and doesn't know how to go about it. We have to move on with our lives,

Thanks in advance for your advice
