Support, Maintainance, and commissions
QuoteReply
I have a job which pays me about 50% in salary and 50% in commissions. I will be getting divorced after 20+ years of marriage. We have three children, 17. 14, and 10. The current temporary orders stipulate I pay her basically half of my monthly Net take home pay. My soon-to-be x wife works part -time and has told the court she plans to continue to work P/T even though she has a Masters and the schools need F/T people in her field. Since seperating I have been dragged to court each quarter I get a commission check to have it put in Her attorneys trust account for her to spend as needed.  Of course her spending has gone thru the roof and now she lives better then when we were married. Meanwhile I live in a sparsely furnished apartment and struggle paying the debt I was awarded also. So, what I'm asking is, will I be faced with more years of court due to my commissions going up or down? Also, with this economy, our company is already telling us that $'s will go down in 2009, but they won't write me a letter  stating that because I'm in sales. They want Top performers which I have been over the last 12 years and the expectation is to do well. Thank you for this forum.
